Reverence, barn name and original US forest service nickname “Rex” is a 14.2h 7yo dapple gray gelding from Devils Garden. Rex required a lot of patience and time in the beginning of his 120 days to trust. Slowly but surely, the walls he had put up around trusting humans came down and he is now thriving in the domestic life.
Rex is a thinker and aims to please. He is incredibly smart when learning new things on the ground or under saddle, and is always looking for the right answer willingly. He has had extensive groundwork and desensitizing.
He stands tied, loads and trailers great, stands great for the farrier, and is easy to catch. I would recommend for his new person to gain trust with groundwork and a routine before turning him out in a large area, he meets me at the gate every day now but it took a lot of dedication to get to that point with him. He does not have stranger danger. He has been turned out in a pasture with one other horse.
He has been on trail rides and very much enjoyed himself. He is more woah than go. He has practiced obstacles and hacked out alone.
He got started under saddle later than some so he is still green and considered a project, with an experienced mustang owner and more miles, he will make an amazing, dependable all around horse. Also, you can’t help but fall in love with his dapper mustache. This horse is hardy, has endurance, and an amazing personality.
